First: Relief services provided within Yemen

1- Food security

To alleviate the suffering of the displaced and conflict-affected families, CSSW distributed food packages to (10,350) displaced and affected families in the governorates of Sa’ada, Hajjah, Marib, Al-Jawf, Amran,Sana’a, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, Radaa and the Capital Sana’a.The food packages included flour, sugar, rice, oil, beans, dates and milk donated by Qatar Charity and Raf Foundation, Islah Society in Bahrain, the Islamic Society in Bahrain, and IHH organization of Turkey.

2- Shelter and distribution of non-food items

CSSW distributed shelter and non-food items to (8636) displaced and poor families of the host community in the governorates of Hajjah, Al-Jawf, Marib, Radaa and the Capital Sana’a. Such items included mattresses, blankets, plastic sheets, mats, buckets, water transport and storage equipment, and kitchen appliances funded by the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Islah Association in Bahrain.

 

3- Medical Aid

In this connection, CSSW rendered several medical services in the governorates of Al-Jawf, Hajjah and Amran for (15,116) beneficiaries as follows:

1- Medical relief caravan to the districts of Masloob, Al Ghayl and Al-Hazm of Al-Jawf governorate where inspections and tests conducted with the distribution of free treatments and benefited (1600) patients.

2- Provision of reproductive health and family planning services through mobile clinics, wounds and injection treatment for (13,516) members of the displaced and host community families in the districts of Mustaba and Harad of Hajjah governorate in addition to the implementation of health education and awareness activities.

3- A health survey conducted in several districts of Amran governorate in partnership with donor organizations and in liaison with the local authority in order to facilitate interventions as commensurate with the actual needs. Around (31) health facilities in the city of Amran and other ten districts benefited from the survey. It is estimated that hundreds of thousands indirectly benefited from the survey.

4- Community Protection & Assistance CSSW, in liaison with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Executive Unit in Harad, and local councils in Hajjah governorate, rendered many services, social activities and protection for the displaced people and host community through the Community Center for IDPs in Harad.

CSSW paid house rents for (300) displaced families throughout the year.

5- Emergency relief for stability of local communities

Emergency relief conducted in collaboration with the Global Communities organization in some districts of Abyan governorate so as to contribute to the support and stability of conflict-affected families. Such services were rendered as follows:

6- Professional and Vocational Training

To build the capacity of members of displaced families and host community and make them good for employment to earn their families’ living with income-generating jobs, CSSW, with funding from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and in partnership with the local authority and the Executive Unit in Harad district, conducted training courses and qualification programs in the following areas: English , Literacy , Life skills, Sewing and embroidery , Henna and engraving , Auto-mechanics, Mobile phone maintenance and electrical extensions (316) male and female trainees of IDPs in Harad district and (37) male and female trainees in Amran governorate benefited from such courses.

7- Reconstruction

In this connection, CSSW rehabilitated (46) houses of the conflict-affected families in Zunjibar city, Abyan governorate, in partnership with Qatar Charity. It also built 5 houses for five families whose houses were set to fire in Hodeida governorate.

 

 

Second: Relief services rendered outside Yemen

1- Food and medical aid for displaced and refugee families in Syria

 CSSW distributed food packages of rice, sugar, lentils, grits, chickpeas, pasta, sauce, cooking oil, candy, jam, thyme, olives and olive oil. It also distributed mattresses, blankets and medicines for displaced families inside the Syrian territories. The total beneficiaries of these services attained (16,379) families. In addition, CSSW provided the same services for (3103) Syrian refugee families in Lebanon and Turkey, in cooperation and coordination with the Turkish IHH organization.

 

2- Food and Shelter aid for displaced and refugee families in Myanmar CSSW distributed the following aid:

- Food packages consisting of rice, beans, oil, salt, dry fish and heating sets for (1560) displaced families inside Myanmar.

- The same services rendered to (611) Bengali refugee families in Bangladesh in cooperation and coordination with the Turkish IHH organization.
