Implemented by CSSW and (28842) poor households benefits from the project General Secretary of Local Council in Lahj Gov. launched the 3rd Phase of Emergency Safety Net Project

With the support of WFP and under the patronage of Lahj Governor, Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Majidi, Mr. Ali Haidrah Mater, General Secretary of Local Council in Lahj launched the 3rd phase of Emergency Safety Net Project implemented by the Charitable Society for Social Welfare (CSSW).

During the launching ceremony which was held last Wednesday in Salah Eldein School in Bani Ayadh, Toban district, Mr. Mater praised the role played by CSSW and the impact of the project in reducing the sufferance of poor households expressing the readiness of local council in the governorate to cooperate with all humanitarian efforts. 

Dr. Abdulwasea Al-Wasea, CSSW General Director, pointed out that the project aims at securing food for targeted households in Lahj and providing them with balanced nutritional foodstuff including 50 kg of wheat, 5 liters of cooking oil, 10 kg of beans per household. 

Al-Wasea revealed that the project targets (28842) households based on the list of beneficiaries prepared by Social Safety Net Organization with average of 7 individuals per household. He also pointed out that the distribution activities will last till 15 November praising the role of partnership with WFP, which started last year, in reducing the food insecurity effects on the poor household in Lahj and calling to expand such partnership to include more governorates and more households in the future distribution phases. 

In the same connection, Al-Wasea extended his appreciation and thanks to Ministry of Education and its office in Lahj and also to the governor and the deputy governor of Lahj for their cooperation to facilitate the project implementation processes. 

The ceremony was attended by a number of executive offices managers in the governorate, general secretary of CSSW Branch in Lahj and a number of beneficiaries.
